The Birddog – for a stronger core
This exercise is one that can be progressed from very light and easy to more challenging. It involves trunk strength and endurance and stability, so it is useful for back rehab and for general fitness and performance.
There are always more challenging versions, and even top athletes (including powerlifters, would you believe) use this as a warm-up/tune-up/’activation’ exercise before strength/power events.
