Pilates on the reformer is a fantastic mode of exercise for rehabilitation, return to work or for returning to the activities and hobbies you love.
Traditional strengthening methods may be difficult to return to right after an injury. You have likely lost strength you had prior to injury and you may have some remaining pain or symptoms that are exacerbated with these training methods. However, it is vital to continue loading these structures to prevent muscle wastage and to strengthen these areas.
The reason the reformer is great to bridge this gap is due to its low impact nature. The reformer uses spring-based resistance whilst taking the majority of your body weight out of the equation to create the perfect level of tension for your joints and problem areas without overloading your joints or exacerbating your symptoms.
